Founded in 1996 by Matt Heaton, it was acquired by the well-known company Endurance International Group (Boston) in 2010, where it has not stopped climbing the ladder of the best web hosting companies.

Among the most important flashes that will give us more information about Bluehost we can highlight the following aspects:

  • Its main office is located in the city of Utah.

Among other types of hosting, we can not leave behind modalities that are booming within the sector, these are cloud hosting, WordPress hosting, and Woocommerce hosting, which will break down in the following lines.

  • Cloud hosting: We can use this cloud storage hosting from a price of 5.95 dollars/month to another of 15.95 dollars/month depending on the service chosen (Basic, Plus, and Business pro) and the characteristics of each plan (disk space, domains, RAM, email accounts, deposits for marketing…).

  • Woocommerce hosting: With WordPress from a price of $12.95/month you can enjoy a good platform to set up your website or online store.

Virtual servers (VPS)

Virtual servers are partitions within a computer that work independently and where the client can use a part of the services of said server. They usually use servers with AMD Quand Opteron processors, with optimal speed and performance for the development of web projects.

We can differentiate 4 services with their characteristics.

  • Standard: For a price of $ 14.99 / month we can enjoy 1 free domain, 2 CPU Cores, 30 GB of disk space, 2 GB of RAM, 2 IP addresses, and 1 TB of bandwidth among other features.
  • Enhanced: For a price of $ 29.99 / month we can enjoy 1 free domain, 2 CPU Cores, 60 GB of disk space, 4 GB of RAM, 2 IP addresses, and 2 TB of bandwidth among other features.
  • Premium: For a price of $ 44.99 / month we can enjoy 1 free domain, 3 CPU Cores, 120 GB of disk space, 6 GB of RAM, 2 IP addresses, and 3 TB of bandwidth in addition to other features.
  • Ultimate: For a price of $ 59.99 / month we can enjoy 1 free domain, 4 CPU Cores, 240 GB of disk space, 8 GB of RAM, 2 IP addresses, and 4 TB of bandwidth among other various features.

* All with a money-back guarantee if you are not convinced of the service provided by the web.

Dedicated Bluehost servers

Dedicated servers are equipment that customers can use exclusively, using all the resources that the user rents from the company in question.

We can differentiate 3 services with their characteristics:

  • Standard: For a price of $ 149.99 / month ( US $ 74.99 the first month ) can make use of 4 cores CPU of 2.5 GHz, 1TB of disk space, 4GB of memory RAM, 5 TB of bandwidth 1 domain free and 3 address IP among other features.
  • Enhanced: For a price of $ 199.99 / month ( $ 99.99 the first month ) can make use of 4 cores CPU of 2.5 GHz, 1TB of disk space, 8 GB of memory RAM, 10TB of bandwidth 1 domain free, and 4 address IP among other features.
  • Premium: For a price of $ 249.99 / month ( $ 124.99 the first month ) we can use 4 CPU cores of 3.3 GHz, 1 TB of disk space, 16 GB of RAM, 15 TB of bandwidth 1 domain free, and 5 address IP among other features.

Performance and uptime

Bluehost is one of the companies with the fastest servers that I have tried. It is quite a bit faster than Hostgator. Due to this good result, they can serve companies in the US, America, and even Europe with their basic plans. Their servers are in the US, so if you are creating a website for the Asian or Australian market takes a look at their Cloud hosting.

But you have to know that there are things just as important as speed, one of them is uptime. If a company does not provide good results in uptime, you will lose customers and readers.

Below you can see a detailed uptime test that I have done for Bluehost.

If you want to work with a company that you can trust, Bluehost is a good option at a very affordable price. For me, it has the best quality/price ratio.

Bluehost control panel

If you are new to the world of hosting (hosting) and do not want to complicate the best thing is to choose a hosting plan with cPanel. With the cPanel, you will manage your website without worrying about technical issues. Here are some advantages of using the cPanel.

  • Easy web page administration.
  • Easily install any type of CMS system using a simple script (WordPress, Joomla, etc…).
  • Marketing tools for special promotions for your website.
  • You can make backup copies of your website, check email.
  • Provides easy to interpret usage statistics.
  • All of this can be done with a few clicks

Advantages and disadvantages of using Bluehost

After analyzing most of the relevant aspects of Bluehost web hosting, it is time to define what are the advantages and disadvantages that we have found.

Pros:

  • Prices relatively low in relation to the quality of their products
  • 30-day trial guarantee.
  • 20 years among the most popular web hostings on the market.
  • 99.9% availability of their services.
  • They include tutorial videos and guides for further learning.
  • 1 click installer.

Cons:

  • Technical support generally in English.

Our verdict

As we mentioned at the beginning, Bluehost is one of the best options when it comes to web hosting services, especially for beginners or people looking to create their WordPress website. Their hosting service is a high performance, fast, secure, and very easy to use.

However, it may not be the best option for much more experienced users who wish to host large websites, due to its lack of an uptime guarantee and a price renewal strategy that can be quite aggressive.

However, hiring the services of Bluehost offers many more advantages than many other providers, so it will always be an option to consider.
