How to Build ClickFunnels Membership Site

Building an online community for your e-commerce site can be a good way to maintain your current audience base. This will also help you build relationships with your customers, and increase their engagement rate.

One way to achieve this is through a membership site. This will allow you to have a page that only registered users can access. This being stated, today, we’re going to provide a tutorial on how you can build a membership site through ClickFunnels.

Note that before doing the steps; make sure that you have an active ClickFunnels account as that will be the only requirement.

Step 1: Build a Membership Funnel.

First, you will need to create a membership funnel in your ClickFunnels account. This will serve as the foundation of your goal, which is to build a community and gather a stable customer base. This will also provide you with all of the features that will be needed throughout the process.

To do this, head on to ClickFunnels then log in to your account. Once you do that, you can now go and build a new funnel.

There are two ways on how you can do this. First, you can select the Build a Funnel button from the Quick Links menu. This is the first thing that you will see on the dashboard.

If for some reason, you cannot find the said button on the space, you can select the ClickFunnels tab, and click the Build Funnel button. The tab is placed at the topmost part of the application, while the button is at the last of the drop-down menu.

Once you access the menu for building a funnel, you should choose “Sell Your Product” and “Membership” from the choices. Afterwards, you will be asked to set the funnel’s name, and optionally, a group tag.

After doing so, you can review your settings. If you’re satisfied, go on and click “Build Funnel.”

Step 2: Create a ClickFunnels Membership Page.

After building the funnel, you will be redirected to the funnel’s menu. This is where you can do our second step which involves creating a Membership Access Page. Here, users will be able to sign up, register, or log in on their membership accounts.

Before you can start modifying this, you have to click “Membership Access” from the menu on your left. This is to ensure that you are creating the right page as this is often the issue that most users encounter.

Once you are totally sure that you are in the Membership Access settings, you can now choose from the many templates provided by the platform.

This is one of the most important decisions to make as this will make an impact on the willingness of your audience to sign in.

The template that you will choose can further be edited. The editor is similar to that of a landing page. This means that you can add new elements, edit text, modify placements, and the likes. Keep in mind that you can only have one Membership Access Page.

If you prefer, you can also conduct split testing to land on better results. To do this, you can simply select “Create Variation” from the same menu. From there, you can start experimenting with different templates and designs.

Step 3: Modify ClickFunnels Membership Area.

Moving on, the next thing that you have to do is to create a Membership Area. This goes along with the Membership Access Page. The menu for this is right below the latter.

The Membership Area will serve as a space where the members can access your digital products which are provided in exchange for being a member. You can consider this as an additional page for your site.

Similar to the previous step, this will also require you to choose a template, and edit it for more personalized branding. Elements and split testing can also be done.

What makes this different is the need for lessons and content. These are what will make the said area functional and engaging. Lessons will allow you to bring more specific contents to your membership area. Content, on the other hand, will serve as the reference and instruments of the members. The latter can be about your products.

To add a lesson, here are the things that you should do:

  1. Open the membership funnel that you want to add the lesson to.
  2. Access the Membership Area menu.
  3. Select “Add New Lesson” which is placed on the bottom right of the screen.
  4. Enter the required information, specifically the lesson’s section, name, template, and drip delay. You can also modify advanced settings although optional.

If you want, you can first set sections before the lessons. To add a section, you can simply click “Add New Lesson Section” which is beside the button for “Add New Lesson”. After that, head on to enter its name and the needed requirements, the latter being an optional step, and finalize it by selecting “Create Lesson Section.”

The addition of content can be done on the same menu.

 Step 4: Test results.

To know whether the membership site you created functions efficiently, it is recommended that you test its results. To do this, refer to the following steps:

  1. Copy the Secret Sign Up URL from the Membership Area menu. You should paste this on a new incognito window.
  2. Create a new account with a unique set of login information.
  3. Review the page.

If the page that you were directed to passes your standards then you can be confident in publishing this on your site. If not then you can always go back to make revisions.
